The Seven Magicians Puzzle!

Seven Magicians went to a Magic Convention. When they got to their hotel, they found a mistake had been made and only SIX rooms were available! This was a problem because each magician wanted a room of his and her own.

The hotel manager thought about it a minute and said, "I know what to do! It's time for some magic of my own!"

She took two of the men and put them in Room 1, saying it was for only a few minutes. She placed the third magician in Room 2, the fourth magician went into Room 3 (where she loved the view!) The fifth magician went into Room 4 and the sixth magician went into Room 5.

She then returned to Room 1 and took the seventh man and placed him in Room 6. Thus, each magician ended up in a room of his and her own!

Follow the numbers and they seem to work out, but 7 Magicians in 6 rooms?!

Where is the trick in this?

The Missing Money Puzzle!

The next day, three of the magicians went to lunch together at the hotel restaurant. They had a nice meal and, when they finished, the price (including a tip) came to exactly $30.

They laughed and said, "That makes it easy!" Each magician gave the waiter a ten dollar bill.        ($10 + $10 + $10 = $30)

At the cash register, the waiter met the hotel manager. She said, "I know those magicians! They did some tricks for us at breakfast. They were so nice, I want to do them a favor. Let's make their lunch bill only $25!" She gave the waiter five one dollar bills and sent him back.

On the way back to their table, the waiter (who wasn't an honest person) decided to keep $2. He thanked the magicians for the tricks they did that morning and gave them each $1 back.

   That meant each magician paid $9.         ($9 + $9 + $9 = $27)

   The waiter kept $2.         ($27 + $2 = $29)

Wait a minute! We started with $30 and we end up with $29?!

Where's the missing dollar?
