Impale your thumb with pins and needles!

This one is a print-and-enjoy classic that is seldom seen but very effective. Do NOT do this for small children because it CAN be frightening! That's not what magic is all about.

However, for your friends, co-workers, romantic partners, and hubby or wife...go for it!

"Whoa!  You're not gonna believe this weird thing I just read on the internet!  I gotta try this!   Do we have any pins?"

Get some pins, a magnet, and a hand towel.   Oh, one more thing... get a piece of carrot, about the size and shape of your thumb and hide it in your hand (or in the towel.)

"This is supposed to cause a strange effect on your body, using warm water and a magnetic field.  Let me try it on my thumb."

The magnet does nothing, of course, but distract.   If you can't find a magnet, use your imagination, find something else, and change the story!

"First, you hold a magnet to your thumb like this and then run warm water on them both for about 30 seconds.   Then you ditch the magnet and dry off with a towel.  It said to avoid direct light so I'll just leave the towel over it."

Under cover now, it's time to swap!    Pull your thumb down and stick the carrot up!

"Now my thumb should be totally pain-free.  Hmm...it feels like it's numb.  It said I could poke it with a pin and it shouldn't hurt.  Well, here goes nothing...Hey!   I don't feel it!  Maybe I have to push harder... Look!   It's stuck!"

Now you'll have them alarmed!   Poke the pin at your "thumb" a bit, then push it into the carrot so it's sticking out!    Show it around.

"Let me do that again!.   Here's another pin!   And another!  One more!   Aw, why not...one last pin. Cool!   I think I hit the bone with that one!

Now you will have then completely grossed out, if not downright panicked!

"Ooo...it's starting to feel funny.   I'd better get these out.   Hmm...not much blood... Hey!   Look at my thumb!   Not a mark on it!    Geeze, the things you learn on the internet!   Wanna try it?"

Dump the evidence out of sight if you want.   You may have to show how you did it to avoid being sent to the funny farm!    Be careful, though!  At times like this, grossed out wives and girlfriends don't have much of a sense of humor!  Look for more at www.JerrysMagic.com!
