and different for your students, please read on! They'll always remember this year at school!
I've been entertaining children with magic for over 25 years and I have a lot of fun with them at parties and workshops. But they all seem to disappear once they hit middle school.
Of course, I do understand that they've outgrown kiddie entertainment and it isn't cool to enjoy the things that they did when they were five and ten years old. I always wanted to have something fun for teenagers, too, but I couldn't think what. Then, several years ago, I found out that stage hypnosis shows were becoming popular for school events. This was just what I was looking for! Something that was both fun and age appropriate for older students. I've been hypnotizing friends and family for fun since my college days (Let's not ask how long ago that was!) so I knew what to do and how to do it. But, when I do something, I do it right so I got professional training and became a certified stage hypnotist in 2003. I developed my own Mesmerizing Mall show for teen and family audiences. It's a laugh-filled trip to an imaginary Mega-Mall, where the strangest and funniest things happen. It's safe and sane... a reflection of my own values. No profanity, nothing in poor taste, just age-appropriate fun. It's a program you'll be proud to have. Give me a call, toll-free, and we can go over all the details. If you've never seen a hypnosis show before, let me tell you how I do it. We always start with a brief talk about what hypnosis is and, more importantly, what it isn't. This is not a boring lecture and they'll laugh as they learn that TV and the movies have it all wrong!
Next, I lead the entire audience through a demonstration of hypnosis right at their seats. It's both fascinating and amazing to see the power of the mind and imagination in action!
Finally, I call for volunteers (There's never any shortage!) and guide them into a self-induced state of, what's been described as, relaxed concentration. What follows next is one comedy skit after another, each illustrating a different facet of hypnosis. Not only is it riveting on one level, hypnosis (done my way) is about the funniest show they will ever see! And I think that's cool! But hypnosis is not only cool, it's grown-up fun, too. For many of them, it's their first chance to experience adult entertainment and I want to make sure it's done right! ![]() When I say, "adult entertainment," what I mean is that they're old enough to appreciate the concepts behind the fun. This is entertainment of the mind, for the mind, and I keep it fun and classy!
No coarse language, no risque situations, no double entendres (We'll leave that to prime-time television!)
You don't have to be crude to be funny and there's no need to ever embarrass anyone.
No one clucks like a chicken at my shows... we don't have to!
It all comes down to respect for your audience and rejecting the attitude that teenagers are a tough group to entertain, I find them to be well-behaved and ready to have a good time. ![]() I have to laugh. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about hypnosis! Most of them come from the old time movies you see on late-night TV. Mind control, Oh, no! Getting stuck in trance, Oh, my! Brainwashing? Oh, brother! As with most unfamiliar subjects, nothing could be further from the truth. And a big part of my doing these programs is to debunk these ideas and replace them with knowledge (in a fun way!) Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that we all experience every day. Have you ever driven your car and suddenly realized you had no memory of the past few miles? You were in trance. Have you ever been so engrossed in a movie or a book that someone had to call you twice to get your attention? You were in trance (and you popped right out again, didn't you?) You can read more about hypnosis here. My volunteers are always in control of themselves, there are no after-effects, and no therapy is being done (that's an effective but different process!) It's just good clean fun! ![]() Whether it's a shy young woman suddenly discovering she can give a public speech on earthworms or a reserved young man who finds he really can open up and have fun with the group, it becomes apparent that almost anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Presenting ideas and concepts like this, in a laugh-filled show, can't be beat. This is the way I like to do things and while the message is there, the fun is what brings it home. ![]() You give me a dozen chairs (and a cleared performing area) and I'll give you a program they won't forget! Please call me and we can go over the program details, always with no obligation. Easier yet, e-mail me with any questions right now. Be sure to include these three things... what town and state your school is in, how large a group you expect, and the approximate date. I'll get right back to you! I look forward to the laughter of your students when they see their friends as they've never seen them before!
